Building the Townsend 34

Ever since the Alaska trip in Wayward Sun, Alex has been fantasizing about a proper solar cruiser. It turns out Brandon Davis, or Turn Point Design, also had that vision. In early 2024 they put their heads together and the Townsend 34 began to take shape. Matt Mortensen and Chris Brignoli of Revision Marine added their experience and rounded out the design team. There is no way this boat would be half as good without the decades of experience of each individual.

  • Engineering and Model

    It all starts with a hull. The Townsend 34 is built as a scale model and is tested for performance.
